Livingstone Crocodile Park Explains Late Entry Policy After Pompi Denied Access
Management at Livingstone Crocodile Park has issued a statement following complaints by award-winning gospel musician Pompi, who was denied entry to view reptiles after arriving “late.”
The incident has sparked widespread debate on social media, with users expressing mixed reactions over the park’s decision. According to Pompi, the Silence singer arrived at the facility with his family around 16:40 hours, approximately 20 minutes before the official closing time of 17:00 hours. Despite this, he was informed that he could not be granted access, prompting him to share his disappointment publicly on Facebook.
In response, park management clarified that while the official closing time is 17:00 hours, the last entry for visitors is set earlier due to the nature of the tours. Management explained that guided tours of the reptile facility are extensive and require adequate time to ensure visitors receive a complete and safe experience.
As such, staff members are instructed not to admit guests after 16:15 hours. This policy, according to the park, is designed to prevent rushed tours and to maintain safety standards for both visitors and staff.
The statement has done little to settle the debate, with some members of the public supporting the park’s adherence to its internal guidelines, while others argue that clearer communication of the last entry time is necessary to avoid similar misunderstandings.
The incident highlights the importance of transparency in operating hours, especially for tourist attractions that rely heavily on public goodwill and visitor satisfaction.
