Zambian Artist Dalisoul Arrested After Alleged Drunk Driving Crash with Police Motorbike
Zambian singer and music producer Madalitso Phiri, popularly known as Dalisoul , has been arrested and charged with five traffic-related offences following a late-night road accident in Lusaka. According to reports from the Zambia Police Service, the incident occurred on Monday, April 27, 2026, around 23:00 hours along Mosi-oa-Tunya Road, near a Puma Filling Station. Preliminary investigations suggest that Phiri, 42, was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol when his Nissan Mitsuoka cut in front of an oncoming police motorbike, resulting in a collision.
The police rider, identified as Inspector Kwibisa Mbuye, 39, sustained minor injuries. He was quickly rushed to Maina Soko Military Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. The Zambia Police BMW motorbike he was operating suffered extensive front-end damage. Phiri, a resident of Chalala, Lusaka, reportedly escaped the crash unhurt. Authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and the case has drawn public attention due to the artist’s profile in Zambia’s music industry.
