Macky 2 Arrested After Standing with Unpaid Ex-Miners
Zambian hip-hop artist Macky 2 recently shared that he was arrested for simply sitting with a group of former miners men who dedicated their energy and years of hard work to building the nation, yet have reportedly gone without receiving their full pensions since 2020. According to his statement, his intention was not to make false promises, but to listen to their concerns, acknowledge their struggles, and stand in solidarity with them during a difficult time.
He emphasized that while he may not currently have the power to resolve their challenges on his own, he remains committed to using his voice to highlight their situation and advocate for justice. He strongly expressed that their pain should not be ignored and their voices should not be silenced.
Macky 2 confirmed that he has since been released and expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him, reached out, and stood by him during the incident. He noted that true leadership is about service and standing firm for what is right.
He concluded by saying that the cause is bigger than any individual it is about restoring dignity and fairness to those who feel forgotten and unheard in society.
