Recently, a heated discussion has started after Zambian music star Yo Maps claimed that he is the one who introduced Boomplay in Zambia. The statement has caused anger among some people in the music industry who believe the artist exaggerated his role.

DJ NEO, on his official Facebook page, strongly disagreed with Yo Maps’ claims. He wrote that Yo Maps was not the person who brought Boomplay to Zambia. Instead, DJ NEO explained that Boomplay was already pre-installed on Tecno and Infinix phones and that artists’ music was added by their DSPs long before. He further stated that the correct way for Yo Maps to put it was that he only introduced his friends to the platform, not the country.

DJ NEO also criticized Yo Maps for admitting that he sabotaged his friends’ income, calling it a very dangerous act driven by ego and pride.
