one of the biggest local blue-chip known as trade kings.The company group has demonstrated its commitment to the development of sport, by contributing K350,000 towards female boxer Catherine Phiri’s fight next month. Phiri is set to fight for the interim World Boxing Council (WBC) Super Bantamweight title against Kudakwashe Chiwendre of Zimbabwe on February 26.The government Complex in Lusaka has been set as the venue for the event. Trade Kings head of public relations and corporate affairs Bridget Kambobe said, “we are delighted to partner with Oriental Quarries for WBC Super Bantamweight fight as platinum sponsors. We are happy once again to partner with Oriental Quarries and I must say that as Trade Kings, we value partnerships and we are excited today for the partnership ” she said. Christopher Malunga’s Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions are the organisers of the fight which will see Phiri stepping in the ring for the first time since 2019. Phiri lost to a Kenyan boxer Fatuma Zarika, the WBC Bantamweight title fight in Nairobi. Kambobe said that apart from the cash donation, Trade Kings will also facilitate the hosting of the contest which will have six supporting bouts. The total budget for the tournament is K649,900. Some massive efforts have been placed. Zambians are expecting more from Catherine phiri, since she lost her fight last time.
